My trip to Oklahoma last May was rushed, and difficult because my mother had just passed away.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This time, I was looking forward to a more relaxed, low-key visit.\u00a0\u00a0 Still, the week flew by. Here are some highlights:<\/p>\n

Chris and Kate gave me a walking tour of Oklahoma University<\/a>, including the post office where Chris works.<\/p>\n

\"\" <\/a>\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"\u00a0<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Spent one evening with Kendra and Chris at the Oklahoma City Brickyard<\/a> and Riverwalk.\u00a0 Not having been in downtown Oklahoma in a few decades, I was amazed at how built up it has become.\u00a0 Good crowds, street performers, and lots of entertainment<\/a> and restaurants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Highlight of the evening was eating at Fuzzy’s<\/a>.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the closest Fuzzy’s to me is in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

* There’s some support for the name Oklahoma deriving from the Dhegihan Sioux<\/a> language, translating roughly to “All you Scattered, Come to Rest Here.”\u00a0 I thought that was fitting after riding over 10,000 miles this summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
